Dec.12 (GMM) Plans are being made for Robert Kubica’s return to Formula 1 – with Ferrari.

That is the claim of the authoritative La Gazzetta dello Sport correspondent Andrea Cremonesi, who raised the prospect of a test for the Pole in the Spring in the famous Italian team’s 2010 single seater.

Cremonesi’s report confirmed rumours that Kubica’s relationship with the Lotus team will end completely once his contract runs out in less than three weeks.

Well-known for being close to Ferrari sources, he wrote that Kubica is much more likely to return to the grid alongside Fernando Alonso in 2013.

He said Kubica, still recovering from his horror rallying crash, will test the 2010-specification F10 car at Mugello next Spring.

Spain’s AS newspaper said that, pending the last phase of his rehabilitation, Kubica may already have reached some sort of agreement with Ferrari regarding the 2013 season.

Robert will be an outstanding addition to the Scuderia for 2013. I hope he hasn’t lost any of his speed. He will definitely put more pressure on Alonso than Massa has been able to. I like Massa , but he has under performed since his accident. With the changes up top (adding Fry) and an Alonso/Kubica line up , Ferrari will be back in the hunt for some titles.

naaa! I dont thnk kubica will be same as he was before!!!

I really do wish Robert can fully recover; he is well missed on the grid. Personally a lot of driving at the limit is being able to “feel the car.” I am very worried about the damage to his hand and arm as it might have permanent nerve damage not allow him to feel the wheel in that hand. If this is the case it will show in his lap times which could kill his return to the sport.

    F. Massa Has suffered since his return from his injuries it would be folly to expect R. Kubica to be racing at the the level prior to to his accident.

Kinda risky if he wasnt having any feeling in his arms or hand then to pay the man to test drive Ferrari F1 karts around IMO. Might as well let me test them…Shheeeit you dont even have to pay me. A warm meal will do. lol.

It will be a real treat for Kubica’s fans to see him race for Ferrari in 2013. I’m sure he will come back strong and fast. Good luck, Kubica.
